Here are just a few common questions that I receive frequently.
Feel free to contact me if you have any questions regarding epoxy.
Epoxy can be scratched, however we can add an additionnal coat of waterbased urethane for additionnal protection. It’s the best option if you have pets.
For garages and balconies the product will resist to scratches to a certain point.
Tires won’t damage the flakes.
It can if the preparation part of the job is not done properly.
However, we have the knowledge and the adequate tools to prevent that from happening.
There is a possibility of cracking or chipping if there’s a major movement of the slab this could affect the epoxy and the concrete as well. (ex: movement caused by the environment.) But it’s actually rare.
By it’s own and with time, epoxy will not chip or crack.
Yes, but only if it’s inside.
Outdoor wooded made balconies cannot be covered by epoxy or it will chip and crack years after being applied. For inside jobs, we can do flakes, countertops, metallic floors (and more) on wood !
9 hours at 22 degrees C and 30% humidity.
However, in a house, the concrete is always cold, the humidity might be over 30% as well. That’s why we recommend 1-2 days before you can step on your floor and about a week before putting back your furniture on it.
For the curing time in garages, we recommend waiting 4 days before you get back your tools and 1 week before you get the car in the garage.
Epoxy has a longer curing time and is used for indoor projects, such as metallic floors.
Polyaspartic has a longer curing time and is more often used for outdoors projects, since it won’t yellow with time.
